Summer Roundup: Napster

Home Survivor More

This summer, I downloaded the Napster program. I got a bunch of songs off it, but it the RIAA decided to try to shut Napster down. They managed to win an injunctiion against Napster about a month into my ownership of the software.

They were going to be shutdown at 3AM Saturday, and I planned to stay up till then to get all the songs I could. But Napster won the appeal to stay open and I was happy.

The RIAA says they are trying to proptect the artists, but I don't believe Record companies ever really care to much for the artists. How come in every single TV movie about a rock star, there's always the part where they have to fight the Record companies in court for control of their music?
